What is Small Business Coaching?
Small Business Coaching occurs within the context of your organization and its culture. We utilize a systems perspective and appreciate the unique organizational culture and environment of your business. Through the systems perspective lens, I will be able to facilitate the strategies and leadership that create alignment with your business objectives and customer needs.
In Small Business Coaching, we will incorporate many of the same processes used in Executive Coaching and apply them to your business, team or group. We may choose to work with a select group, team, dyad, or the whole company. Our sessions will be individualized to your needs.
Unlike leadership training where you gather off-site to learn for a day or a week, small business coaching focuses on the environment where you need to lead. We engage learning where learning and challenges happen, within the work environment. It’s the catalyst for your executives and managers to be creative in their thinking about business challenges. This encourages your team to apply their new skills, experiment with new techniques and gather feedback in real-time and real space.
Small Business Coaching also requires your organization’s leadership team to be inquisitive and curious about themselves and their impact on others. They will be asked to explore their leadership style and identify areas that they or their superiors would like to improve upon. Small Business Coaching may include requesting input from colleagues, subordinates and managers.
Here’s how Small Business Coaching works:
Your executives and managers will work together with me to reflect on their and/or the company’s past performance, areas of greatest success and strength, recurring challenges and conflicts, personal and company’s mission statement, patterns of interaction and more to obtain a comprehensive and well informed perspective. Equipped with our comprehensive perspective, I will facilitate the exploration of new behaviors and approaches so that the identified changes can be attained and sustained.
This on-the-job, real-time process allows people to master new skills and experiment with new styles of leadership while receiving time sensitive feedback. This coaching model creates meaningful and sustained change for your executives and managers both professionally and personally.
